Blogging vs. Vlogging

With the help of the internet, your voice can now be heard all over the world. You can now share your technical knowledge with your field of expertise or simply voice out your opinion about a certain topic. Moreover, you can even build your own business with the help of the internet. You can do all of these with blogging.

One of the main challenges of doing a blog is choosing the best format. The blogger needs to choose the most effective medium to convey their message and share their knowledge. There are blogging and vlogging.

What is the difference?

There are two different formats: blogging and vlogging. Blogging is purely based on the text. You need to write a content explaining the details of your chosen topic. On the other hand, vlogging is creating a video created by you, of you, or your topic. However, there are times that these two are combined. There are some blogs that contain videos like tutorials. This can be done in cooking blogs, which needs text so that viewers/readers will have a list of ingredients that they will need. At the same time, the video can easily show how people can follow the instructions on the blog. Some vlog also contains texts to explain things that are not included in the video.

Pros and cons

Both blogging and vlogging have their own pros and cons. With blogging, you can share your whole experience or share your opinion through written words. This is a common practice in order to engage with your site visitors. The downside is that you need to have knowledge about SEO, keywords, meta tagging, and effective writing. In vlogging, it can be easy to shoot videos as long as you have the necessary equipment. However, it can be difficult because you need to have knowledge with video editing and a high-quality camera. It is a time-consuming process.

Choosing the best format

Your format depends on your ability. If you are confident with your writing skills, you can simply write a blog. On the other hand, if you have the best equipment to shoot videos and you are not that good in writing, you can simply choose vlog. Using coupon codes to your website may help attract visitors and promote your blog or vlog.
